Road conditions were icy, slick, and generally unsafe to drive following bad weather conditions hours earlier, leading police Sergeant Matt Ames to promptly begin clearing the collision as soon as conditions allowed. In just 5 short hours, all cars were removed from the roads and lanes reopened. Sergeant Ames warned that “people just need to drive smart when the snow starts falling, reduce your speed, make sure you’re buckled up, and let’s just all be safe out there,” according to CBS News update following the incident.

Apartment Towers Burn
On November 26th, an apartment complex in Hong Kong was engulfed in flames, leaving at least 156 dead, marking the territory’s deadliest fire in 70 years. Hong Kong 01 reported that the fire likely started near the bottom of one of the buildings, after which, mesh netting and flammable styrofoam panels allowed the fire to rapidly break windows, spread to six other buildings in the complex, and engulf the area. Although authorities initially found that the netting qualified as fire-retardant, the mesh deeper in the building was not. With more and more blame directed towards the construction company, Hong Kong Police have arrested 15 people involved in the renovations, per Central News Agency. This incident has left over 3,000 people in transitional housing and will be supported by 2.8 billion HKD funded by donations and the government.
