The Border Battle for the Bears
On February 19th, Indiana legislators passed a bill for the Chicago Bears to build a new stadium in Hammond, Indiana, a metropolitan area of Chicago, per abc7chicago.com. Although Illinois lawmakers say that the deal is unlikely, they are making their own deal for the Chicago Bears, per axios.com. The planned area where the Bears will potentially relocate to is only about 30 minutes away from the current stadium, Soldier Field.

Rondale Moore Found Dead in Indiana
NFL wide receiver Rondale Moore, who most recently played for the Minnesota Vikings, has died at the age of 25. Police in New Albany, Indiana, reported that Moore was found in a garage from an apparent gunshot wound. An investigation and autopsy are ongoing.
Moore was a standout at Purdue University and was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, later spending time with the Atlanta Falcons and Vikings. His professional career was hampered by knee injuries in recent seasons.
Teams, coaches, and former teammates expressed deep sorrow and shared condolences, highlighting Moore’s work ethic, humility, and impact both on and off the field.

The Fall of El Mencho
Violence has surged in Jalisco, Mexico, after the Mexican military killed cartel leader Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes on February 22. The Jalisco New Generation Cartel and its now deceased leader, El Mencho, have been largely considered the most wanted entities after the arrest of the Sinaloa Cartel’s Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán. AP shows that retaliation from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel included vandalized stores, over 250 roadblocks, completely charred vehicles, and dead bodies on roads. NBC reported a near-complete shutdown of Jalisco’s capital, Guadalajara. With public transportation suspended and businesses closed, tourists were forced to stay locked in their hotels. Zoológico Guadalajara decided to house one thousand visitors overnight in buses due to safety concerns.

Jesse Jackson Dead at 84
According to a statement from his family, Jackson passed away at his Chicago home on January 17, 2026. They did not specify the cause of death, only that he “died peacefully.”
The Rev. Jesse Jackson, a civil rights activist whose idea of a “Rainbow PUSH Coalition” made him one of the most significant Black political figures in decades. As a close friend of Dr. King, he gained national recognition before emerging as a prominent political figure who promoted economic justice and civil rights.

Tariffs Hike in Response to the Supreme Court Ruling
Just after the Supreme Court ruled on the tariffs, MS NOW said Trump decided to increase the worldwide tariffs to 15% with Trump saying “Based on a thorough, detailed, and complete review of the ridiculous, poorly written, and extraordinarily anti-American decision on Tariffs issued yesterday, after MANY months of contemplation, by the United States Supreme Court, please let this statement serve to represent that I, as President of the United States of America, will be, effective immediately, raising the 10% Worldwide Tariff on Countries, many of which have been ‘ripping’ the U.S. off for decades, without retribution (until I came along!), to the fully allowed, and legally tested, 15% level,” on socal media. Following this, there was immediate backlash from both sides of Congress, with the House Ways and Means Committee Democrats saying, “Trump’s commitment to pickpocketing the American people is relentless.”

Elimination Chamber
The Elimination Chamber is coming up and it’s only two nights away. It is scheduled to air on Saturday February 28, 2026 at 4 pm PT/ 7 pm ET. It is the final PLE before WrestleMania and it also determines who secures their spot to head to Wrestlemania.
The way the Elimination Chamber works is the WWE Elimination Chamber is a high-stakes, six-person match contested inside a 10-ton steel structure. Two wrestlers start, while four others are locked in glass pods, entering the match at timed intervals. Elimination occurs via pinfall or submission only, with no disqualifications.
These matches will determine who the challengers are for the WWE Championship and Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42.

Brawhalla Maybe a Comeback?
Brawlhalla is basically in its legacy phase in 2026. It’s not exactly pulling Fortnite numbers, but with over 125 million accounts, it’s definitely not dead. Even though Steam shows 10k people on at once, a bit slower than the old days, but devs are still grinding. They just dropped Patch 10.03 with a sick vampire skin and more maps, keeping sweat levels high. Plus, esports year 11 just started with the winter championship. They are even making a real-life card game now. Now it might not be “Trendy” on tiktok everyday, but the community is still locked in and competitive as ever.
