Every year on February 2nd, Punxsutawney Phil predicts the duration of winter, determined by seeing his shadow or not.
If Phil sees his shadow, that indicates 6 more weeks of winter, while not seeing his shadow means winter will end sooner and springtime is coming.
In 2026, the groundhog did not see its shadow, predicting a dreadful 6 more weeks of winter.
Although this tradition is a fun one, it’s not typically an accurate one, being correct only about 39% of the time. That means there’s still hope we’ll see the warmer days approach.
