Purdue Keeps Rolling
On Sunday, March 23, 2026, Purdue men’s basketball defeated Miami University in the NCAA Tournament to move on to the Sweet 16. This win gave Purdue coach Matt Painter his 500th win at Purdue. Painter is one of two coaches in Purdue´s history who have won 500 games at Purdue. Painter is now 500-323 in his career at Purdue. Painter has made 8 Sweet 16s and 2 Elite 8s, and one national championship appearance.

Fierce Landing
Sunday night, an aircraft landing at New York’s LaGuardia airport collided with a fire truck on the tarmac after an emergency call, killing the pilot and copilot. The BBC reports that “minutes before” 11:40 p.m., a firetruck was called and cleared to assist with a separate issue. According to the Associated Press, although air traffic control told the vehicle to stop crossing, it did not, allowing an Air Canada jet with over 70 passengers to intercept the vehicle. The aircraft’s entire cockpit was mangled, and 41 passengers were taken to the hospital, though 32 have since been released. Two Port Authority responders in the firetruck were also taken to the hospital and are expected to be released.

Indiana High Speed Pursuit
On March 20, an 18-year-old from Illinois was arrested after an intense chase on I-65 through several Indiana counties. The man was driving an Infiniti G35 without a license plate and ran over a tire deflation device, per WTHR. It was later determined that he was driving under the influence, and THC devices were found in the vehicle after arrest, per Fox59.

RIP to a Martial Arts Legend
Based on NBC and APNEWS at Kauai Hawaii on March 19th on a Thursday, CHUCK NORRIS the legendary tough martial artist and actor and internet lore has passed away at the age of 86. His family found him in peace saying it was a sudden passing not knowing how he died but knew he went out peacfully and they wanted to take a break for they would want to be left alone . He’s the man that starred in some Bruce Lee movies and some of his own like “Walker, Texas Ranger.”

Apex Legends Revival?
The new season of Apex Legends is coming out in May 2026, and a lot of players are getting excited about it. Respawn Entertainment has started teasing some of the updates, like possible Legend changes, new weapons, and gameplay tweaks. There might be map updates or limited-time modes. A lot of players are also hoping to be ranked to improve, so it seems fairer because right now it is the worst thing to be playing right now. Overall, this new season looks like it will keep the game fresh and fun. More details should come out as soon as the release gets closer and trailers or patch notes drop.

Helldivers Illuminate
Last week, on the 20th, Helldivers 2 released an update revolving around the Illuminate enemy faction, adding new mission objectives and enemy types. The last time that people participated this much in a major order was when the major update “Machinery of Oppression” was released, according to Steam Charts. Recently, the game has undergone drama within the community, resulting in review bombs for the game. With this update, the community seemed to forgive the developers’ poor handling of the controversy.
