Known nationwide for its outstanding customer service, consistent quality, amazing food, and its loyal following, Chick-fil-A has built a reputation that is expected in its openings. So, when Franklin finally got a Chick-fil-A, excitement came with high expectations.

Now that Chick-fil-A has been in Franklin for over a month, many people are asking why it took so long for Chick-fil-A to come to Franklin. Because of this, we decided to interview the owner of the new Chick-fil-A, Megan Puello, about this question and more.
How long have you been trying to get Chick-fil-A in Franklin?
Becoming an operator of a restaurant is no easy task, taking years of dedication. The process is quite challenging, including 3 different exams, 4000+ work hours over 3 years, 2-3 references, and dedication to the community, per 300hours. Less than 1% of applicants each year get accepted to become an operator.
“How long..? Chick-fil-A inc determines the locations for each restaurant. However, I was thrilled when 2 years ago, Chick-fil-A put a pin on the map for applicants to be able to apply. I was in the process of interviewing to be an operator and applied for the Franklin locations specifically when it became available. I know Franklin has been waiting for a Chick-fil-A for over a decade. Having come from the Greenwood restaurants, I had many guests inquire when a Chick-fil-A would come to Franklin.”
Having been a Franklin resident, Megan knew the desire of a Chick-fil-A in her hometown.
Do you have a plan to reduce the long wait time?
Known for quick service, the new location has strived to achieve the standards of Chick-fil-A.
“Yes, we absolutely have a plan through training, processes, and honing our systems. With over 100 new, incredible team members, it takes time for everyone to get accustomed to the training, equipment, and systems that we use at Chick-fil-A. I am so proud and thankful for the amazing team we have at our location. They are all learners, hardworking, and ready to keep growing.”
Every day, the employees are working hard to improve wait times, getting better every day, and providing fast and accurate service.
What is your approach to growing this business in Franklin?
“Our approach is growth over time. Truett Cathy, our founder, always said, ‘If we get better, our customers will demand we get bigger.’ Our goal is to grow with diligence, persistence, and excellence over time. I am about creating an experience that will last 30 years through creating a firm foundation based on customer service, remarkable food, and an environment that feels like home. All of this takes attention to detail and working with the team day-in-and-day-out to get there.”

Chick-fil-A employees are known for their top-notch customer service and amazing attitudes compared to other fast food chains.
A new restaurant brings new job opportunities for many people, so we asked an employee their perspective on working at this new establishment.
“Working at Chick-fil-A has been amazing so far, it’s unlike any other job I’ve had. I’ve never once had to question if I belong there, my leaders and coworkers have done a great job making everybody feel welcome.”
“It’s making me feel more thankful for the job I have, it’s changed how I view working.”
Chick-fil-A is known for having some of the best employees in the business, with Fox News saying, “American fast-food chain customers have spoken – and Chick-fil-A is still on top.”
But the key to that is the team around you and the management. Franklins’ new chain is no different, having leaders with years of experience and great skills, constantly tending their staff and looking out for the team.

Reviews
It is clear that Meg has worked very hard to bring Chick-fil-A to Franklin, and that hard work has paid off. Still, though, some customers have different opinions expressed through the reviews on Google, with one saying, “Food was great. But the lonnng [sic] drive thru line took about 20 mins.” Most of the negative reviews are because of inexperienced workers, but with the restaurant only being open for around a month, it is expected.
They are constantly working to improve the location and the quality of service. Although there are negative reviews, there are still positive reviews, with one saying, “I know this Chick-fil-a just open[ed] not too long ago. The service was good, staff was very friendly and the place was clean. I hope they stay that way! Keep up the good work!” It’s obvious that people enjoy and appreciate the new Chick-fil-A that has come to Franklin.
It is no secret that Megan and her team are dedicated to serving the city of Franklin. Everyone wishes nothing but success for Chick-fil-A, and is hopeful for the future of the restaurant, and is excited to see what will be brought to the community.
