Here recently, I watched the movie Search For SquarePants, and honestly, it’s “just okay.” The plot is basically SpongeBob having a crisis because he’s too short to ride a rollercoaster, so he heads to the underworld to find the Flying Dutchman, who is voiced by the same guy as Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), which is the best part.
The 3d animations looks like plastic toys, and the movie tries way to hard to be “trendy.” Like, there’s a random ice spice song that felt like “TikTok bait.” I’m giving it a 6.7/10 because it’s better than most recent spin-offs, but it’s nowhere near the 2004 original movie. It’s “good” because of the nostalgia that’s there, and it looks expensive, but it loses points for being cringe, kinda like “toddler humor” and filler scenes. It’s a good choice if you’re bored.
