This weekend a youth 7on7 football tournament in Westfield Indiana ended in an unexpected and unsettling way when multiple fights broke out during the event What was meant to be a day of competitive sport for young athletes instead drew the attention of police and sparked concern throughout the community.
The incident occurred inside the Grand Park Event Center, a large indoor athletic facility that hosts youth sports tournaments including football, soccer, lacrosse and more. According to the reports from law enforcement and local news outlet Westfield Police Department investigators were called to the park Sunday afternoon after receiving multiple reports of fights taking place among spectators or participants during the tournament.
