WRESTLEMANIA 42
The WWE’s biggest PLE event and live main event is Wrestlemania, and it’s only two months away. It will air for 2 nights for 2 different Main Events that are usually the last match of the night for that day. It’s scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 18th, and Sunday, April 19th. Wrestlemania is considered and called the “Super Bowl of Sports Entertainment.” This year, WRESTLEMANIA 42 will take place again in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the Allegiant Stadium, just like it did last year for WRESTLEMANIA 41.
The details of WRESTLEMANIA is the big stage for history to be made or records to be made or broken, which is exactly what happened last year with John Cena vs Cody Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed WWE Champion (belt), with Cena beating Rhodes and becoming a 17-time WWE Champion. The other important details about WRESTLEMAINA is that it is the center PPV Live Event of WWE, featuring the culmination of major storylines and title matches. Since Wrestlemania 36 in 2020, it has evolved into a two-night event. The first night will be on April 18th, on Saturday, the second night will be on April 19th, on Sunday. Many celebrities appear on the show each night.
There will be multiple matches during the day of the event until night, which leads into the final match, making it the Main Event of the night for day 1 of Wrestlemania 42. There are multiple PLEs that lead up to Wrestlemania.
2 of those PLEs set up who is going to Wrestlemania you either win the Royal Rumble which is a 30-man match that is an elimination format the first two entries start off the match and each 90 seconds a new entry enters the match which can be anybody new wrestlers making their debut or surprise entries to be eliminated you must be thrown over the top rope and both feet hit the ground.
It will end after all 30 entries have been through. Whoever is the last person standing in the ring is the winner of the Royal Rumble. They get to the Main Event at Wrestlemania and choose a title on who they want to face. This goes for both men’s and women’s Royal Rumble.
The other PLE is the Elimination Chamber. The way the Elimination Chamber works is provided by ESPN. “The Elimination Chamber is a high-stakes, 10-ton steel structure match featuring six competitors. Two wrestlers start in the ring, while four are locked in glass pods, entering the match at timed intervals. It is a single-elimination match (via pinfall or submission) with no disqualifications. The winner of the match secures their spot to go to Wrestlemania.
The other PLEs that happen before Wrestlemania and lead up to Wrestlemania, or happen after Wrestlemania. The PLEs are the following: Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, Money in the Bank, Night of Champions, Crown Jewel, Survivor Series, Backlash, WWE King and Queen of the Ring, and Clash at the Castle.
There are currently no confirmed cards on what matches are happening during the 2 days and who is main-eventing the last matches of the night for that night. Currently, one of the main events of one of the days of Wrestlemania will be the Men’s Royal Rumble winner, Roman Reigns vs CM PUNK for the World Heavyweight Champion still waiting on who will main event night 2 or night 1 because the Elimination Chamber has still not been completed.
